$500,000 Venetian Freeroll Starts Tomorrow

A lot of happy people will be walking out of the Venetian's cardroom this weekend.

The Venetian $500,000 Freeroll Tournament starts Friday, and 200 players out of a little more than 360 will walk away from the Strip property with a piece of the prize pool.

The winner of the freeroll receives $150,000 and the rest of the top 10 receive $75,000, $50,000, $40,000, $30,000, $20,000, $15,000, $10,000, $6,000, and $4,000.

Players qualified for the freeroll by accumulating 50 hours of play for each month of May, June, and July, or a total of 200 hours of rated play by July 31. More than 360 players qualified.

The three-day event starts Friday. Those who crack the 200 mark will receive at least $200. Players who crack the 100-player mark will receive $500; the 50-player mark, $750; the 40-player mark, $1,000; the 30-player mark, $1,250; and the 20-player mark, $2,000.

Registration for the event starts at 10 a.m. and the cards go in the air at noon.
