Nils Jarefjäll Strikes Poker Gold In Prague After Tough Final Table

A deal made heads up between Jarefjäll and Pim van Wieringen (based on stacks at the time) saw the Swede receive €42,227 plus the additional €10,000 which was left over for the victor. Van Wieringen took home €41,963 for second place.

For a while it looked like the title could head Van Wieringen way as the Dutchman began heads-up play with 3 million in chips to Jarefjäll’s 1.5 million. After 90 minutes roles were reversed and Jarefjäll finished Van Wieringen off when he moved all in over the top of his raise with 3Diamond Suit 3Heart Suit. Van Wieringen called with ASpade Suit QHeart Suit and the board was dealt 6Club Suit 5Heart Suit 5Club Suit 2Diamond Suit 7Spade Suit to crown Jarefjäll.

The European Masters of Poker moves from freezing but sunny Prague to spring time in Portugal for the second stop of season IV. The €1,000 + €100 buy-in main event runs from Mar. 29 to April. 1 in Casino Estoril, Lisbon, and qualifiers are already up and running on all poker sites on the IGT Poker network.

Players can qualify for as little as €2 or 200 VIP points and there are plenty of daily satellites feeding into main weekly qualifiers, which take place on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays at 8.40 p.m.. Iron Man VIP point freerolls are also running this month and each features a €2,000 EMOP package.
