UK & Ireland Poker Tour Hits Galway

First Stop on Season III of PokerStars Tour Sees Players Descend on West of Ireland

The PokerStars UK & Ireland Poker Tour hit Galway in the west of Ireland yesterday with the €700 + €70 main event getting underway at the Radisson SAS Hotel in the city today.

The event has a €100,000 guaranteed prize pool and capacity for up to 500 players. Three of the tournament prize-pool will be withheld to cover the costs of floor staff and dealers.

There are two day 1s and the main event will finish on Monday February 20.

Last season, when the event had a €1,000 buy in, the event was won by Nick Abou Risk from Canada who took home €67,000 for his victory over 264 opponents.

UKIPT Galway is the first stop of an extended season III of the tour which will see it run until March 2013 and include new cities such as Cork, Ireland.
