When British TV presenter Jonathan Ross took to his sick bed over the weekend he wasn’t about to let his dickie tummy get in the way of having some fun.

The ITV chat show host took to twitter seeking recommendations on the best poker site to play on, tweeting, “Good evening. I have been in bed most of the day, sick. If you are a poker player, which is the best online site to play on? I am learning.”

His celebrity chum Victoria Coren was quick off the mark with a response, replying, “@wossy I am OFFENDED you think only Twitter can help you here..! tsk Your first answer is PokerStars. Do email any further questions…x”

She followed up with further information, “@wossy Note: on pokerstars.net you can practice for free (“play money” but real opponents). Then pokerstars.com for cash action.”

Ross tweeted his would give it a go: “@VictoriaCoren many thanks will try a few hands then retire when i am the king of poker!!! The crown will be mine, oh yes…”

PokerStars, perhaps predictably, were eager to court one of Britain’s most popular entertainers, tweeting this morning, “@wossy So how did you get on in your poker mission last night? Anything we can help with, just let us know! #feelbettersoon”
