Seventy-Two Year Old Albert Sapiano Takes Down £48,560 At Fox Poker Club

Albert Sapiano from Maidstone has won leg 2 of the Genting Poker Series at the Fox Poker Club, London beating 579 opponents to lift the £48,560 first prize.

The 72-year-old beekeeper got heads up with local Callum Smith who had earlier knocked out three players at the final table in a 20 minute period, coming back from just two big blinds to get a 2:1 chip lead heads up against his elderly opponent.

The short heads up duel saw Sapiano dog Smith with A-7 vs A-K and just a few hands later got his chips in front with K-T on a K-Q-J flop against A-Q and stayed ahead for the title.
