Kangaroos are cool. So are dingoes, koala bears, and didgeridoos, but all those things become even more interesting to the poker players who will be heading to Melbourne this January for the 2007 Aussies Millions Championship (AMC).

Full Tilt Poker has just started running qualifiers to the AMC, and their $18,000 prize package is one of the best in the business. Qualifiers win 10 nights at the Crown Casino Resort, entry to the $10,000 buy-in tournament, $3,000 spending money, and round-trip airfare from Los Angeles to Melbourne.

The trip is from Jan. 8 to Jan. 20, with the six-day main event starting Sunday, Jan. 4. Some Full Tilt Poker qualifiers will win that package for a little at $4.40, joining others who will have won the trip for free.

As it did for the World Series of Poker, Full Tilt Poker is providing a tournament qualifying system designed to not only meet every poker player's bankroll needs, but is simple to use and follow.

Cash qualifiers take place every day and qualifiers in which the prize packages are won take place both weekly and monthly. A 20-seat guaranteed tournament that will certainly attract hundreds of players takes place Dec. 10. Players can buy directly into it for $535, or follow the qualifying path to win a seat for much less. Players can even get into this tournament for a little as $4.40 or even for free by cashing in as few as 50 Full Tilt Points

28 Seats for Free

As a bonus, Full Tilt Poker is also holding monthly freerolls from September to December in eacch of which seven packages will be given away. Full Tilt Point tournaments to get into the monthly freeroll take place daily.

All players who earn 10,000 or more Full Tilt Points in the qualifying month also receive an entry into the monthly freeroll. The top 50 Aussie Millions point earners (points are earned by playing in the single- and multi-table qualifiers) also earn an entry.

Cash Path

AMC qualifiers that cost $322 take place at least twice a week. Players can buy in directly or follow the satellite path. Direct multi-table qualifiers cost $8.80, $26, and $75, and the sit-and-go qualifiers cost $44. As many $18,000 packages will be given away in each $322 qualifier as possible. Each week, at least one $1,060 direct qualifier to the AMC takes place, and like all the higher-tier tournaments at Full Tilt Poker, there are many ways to get into this one for much less. Players can buy directly into multi-table qualifiers that cost $26, $75, and $109, and also sit-and-go qualifiers that cost $75 and $160.

And finally, in December, the $535 Aussie Millions 20-Seat Guarantee tournament will take place. Like the other qualifiers, players can either buy directly into this tournament or follow its satellite path. Direct multi-table qualifiers into the $535 tourney cost $8.80, $26, and $75. Players can also play a $75 sit-and-go into this tourney. Of course, players can play in tournaments for less than the cost of these to try to get in for cheaper. Qualifiers take place around the clock.

And around the clock is about as long it takes to fly to Melbourne from most of the world, something many Full Tilt Poker players are going to learn coming this January. Last year, Lee Nelson outlasted 419 players to win $698,700. This year, that money might go to a Full Tilter.
