Justin Bonomo Justin Bonomo has won the PokerStars European Poker Tour Grand Final €100,000 Super High Roller event, earning €1,640,000 ($2,167,588) and 600 Card Player Player of the Year points, moving him into 158th place in the overall standings. With this massive win, Bonomo’s tournament earnings now surpass $5.2 million.

Bonomo entered the final table of eight with an overwhelming chiplead, holding roughly 41 percent of the total chips in the play. He utilized his chip advantage, knocking out five opponents on his way to the title.

Only six players made the money, and the unfortunate player to bust on the €310,000 bubble was Jonathan Duhamel. The 2010 WSOP main event champ is currently ranked fourth in the Player of the Year standings, with six prior final table finishes and $1,345,366 in earnings. Eugene Katchalov also made the final table but not the money, finishing in eighth.

Daniel Negreanu was the first player to bust in the money, earning €310,000 ($409,727) after his AClub SuitKClub Suit failed to outrace Bonomo’s pocket tens. With this win, Negreanu’s lifetime earnings have surpassed the $15.3 million mark. Masa Kagawa chopped out of the tournament when he got all-in with the KClub SuitQHeart Suit against Bonomo and Reinkemeier, who both held pocket jacks. Kagawa was not able to hit one of his overcards, and was sent to the rail with €354,000 ($468,543) worth of consolation.

Bertrand "ElkY" grospellier High-stakes pro Patrik Antonius busted soon after when his top-pair top kicker ran into Bonomo’s rivered straight. Antonius added €443,000 ($585,513) to his bankroll for his deep finish. Bertrand “ElkY” Grospellier, fresh off a win at the EPT Berlin high roller event last week, continued his winning ways here with a third-place finish for €621,000 ($820,776). The French pro got in the last of his money with an open ended straight draw and flush draw, but failed to improve against Bonomo’s two pair. ElkY now has nearly $10.9 million in lifetime earnings.

As a result of all of his bustouts, Bonomo took his sizable lead into heads-up play, where he ultimately defeated Tobias Reinkemeier with his ADiamond SuitQClub Suit winning the decisive race against Reinkemeier’s 4Spade Suit4Club Suit. The board ran out AHeart SuitKClub Suit5Diamond Suit10Spade Suit7Diamond Suit, sending Reinkemeier to the rail as the second-place finisher with €1,064,000 ($1,406,289).
