Mixed Performance For Online Poker In FranceCash Games and Gross Revenue Down, Tournaments Up in First Quarter |

French online gambling regulator has published its first quarter 2012 performance report and the news from online poker was mixed.
Cash games in France showed a five percent decline in amount wagered year-on-year to €1.93 billion while tournament entries were up 26 percent to €367 million from €292 million a year earlier.
Gross gaming revenue for poker overall showed a three precent fall to €83 million from €86 million in the first quarter of 2011.
The number of active players was up slightly to 327,000 from 323,000 a year earlier though the number of younger players (18-24) was down by 14 percent (from 24 percent of all players to 21 percent) while the 35-54 age group grew by just over six percent to 31 percent of all players.
Online poker is most popular in the 25-34 age group which has 44 percent of all players.
