The European Masters of Poker Barcelona 100m freeroll takes place this evening at BetVictor Poker. It is the first of four EMOP Barcelona freerolls in the site’s Sprint Challenge, each worth €2,000, and players must have 100 VIP Points to take part.

The winner will receive a package which includes the €1,000 + €100 main event buy-in, four nights accommodation at the Barceló Atenea Mar, and €350 spending money for flights.

Action kicks off at 8.15 p.m. (CET) and the points must have been earned between Aug. 1 and the start of the tournament. This is the cheapest of the four freerolls in terms of VIP points so now is the time to get in there. The next takes place in seven days time and costs 200 VIP points to play.

The Sprint Challenge is part of the BetVictor Poker €40,000 Poker Olympics which got underway on Aug. 1. Throughout this month, poker players will have the opportunity to take part in five fun events.

Kicking off tomorrow at 7 p.m. (and the following three Thursdays) is the Marathon which sees a maximum of 1,000 players battle each other for two hours. The buy-in is just 20 VIP points, which must be earned in the 48 hours leading up to the start of each tournament, and after two hours the clock will be paused and prizes given based on chip counts at that point.

The winner, the player with the most chips at 9 p.m., will receive a MacBook Air Notebook, while second to fifth place get €100 cash, and sixth to tenth get €50.

Aside from this, there is the 400 Metre Hurdles which is giving away a new iPad or cash prizes to those who win four consecutive six-seat turbo sit ‘n’ go tournaments (at the same stake level).

And no Olympics would be complete without the High Jump and Triple Jump. Players who hit a royal flush in any Texas hold’em cash game win €100 in the High Jump, while players who get dealt a pocket pair three times in a row (at the same hold’em cash game table) receive €300.
