The fourth stop of season 3 of the PokerStars UK & Ireland Poker Tour (UKIPT) pulls into Newcastle on Wednesday, Sept. 5.
The leg will be held in the Aspers Newcastle Casino, and action will get underway tomorrow at 6 p.m. (local time) with a £100 + £10 buy-in, no-limit hold’em sixhanded event. There will then be a £50 + £5 no-limit hold’em, unlimited re-buy super satellite to the main event at 9 p.m..
All eyes will be on the five-day main event however, which gets underway on Thursday, Sept. 6, at noon.
The buy-in for this season’s Newcastle centrepiece is £700 + £70, an increase from the £500 entry of last year. The event includes two starting days and players will sit down to a stack of 15,000 and 60-minute levels. The popular Tour’s latest champion will be crowned on Monday, Sept. 10.
Aspers once again hosts the festival which features an array of side events. One of such is the £2,000 + £150 buy-in no-limit hold’em High Roller, and this kicks off on Sept. 8 at 6 p.m.. Players receive a starting stack of 20,000 and blind levels will be 45 minutes in length.
It was poker pro Richard Sinclair who was victorious at the Newcastle stop last season, walking away with £67,000 for topping the 554-strong field. The Scot then went on to win the UKIPT Champion of Champions event of that season, receiving buy-ins and accommodation for all UKIPT season III stops.
