The European Masters of Poker had to go from 12 to 1 on its final day, but when all the chips were eventually in the middle, it was Sergei Petrushin who was still smiling.

The Russian takes home €56,875 from stop four of season IV after topping a field of 455 in the €1,100 buy-in main event.

A deal was made with two remaining which saw Petrushin and his heads-up opponent Jose Maria Galindo Lopez set €10,000 aside for the champion.

After almost two hours of heads-up play the final hand came. Petrushin made it 200,000 preflop and Lopes moved all in. After a count which saw that Petrushin had the Spaniard covered, he made the call turning over KDiamond Suit QClub Suit. Lopez held ADiamond Suit 8Heart Suit and the board was dealt KClub Suit 3Club Suit 3Spade Suit 4Diamond Suit 2Diamond Suit putting the start of day chip leader on the other side of the rail, €48,405 richer.
