On September 28, the Venetian will unveil their brand new Sands Poker Room, featuring 14,000 square feet of remodeled floor space and 59 tables, making it the largest card room in Las Vegas.
“The new Sands Poker Room at The Venetian is a player’s room in every way,” said Kathy Raymond, Venetian Executive Director of Poker Operations and member of the Women in Poker Hall of Fame. “We have carefully integrated new poker room features and services — keeping poker player needs front-of-mind. We believe that the atmosphere and addition of innovative and value-centered promotions and tournaments will give players of all levels a poker experience like no other.”
The new room can accommodate up to 600 players at a time and Raymond has introduced some new promotions to ensure that the room stays filled.
The first is a new Happy Hour promotion that runs rake-free tables Sunday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. Additionally, the Venetian has instituted a bad-beat jackpot that will apply to their daily tournament schedule. The Venetian will also allow players to use their Grazie player loyalty points on tournament buy-ins.
The Venetian poker room opened in 2006 and quickly became one of the most popular rooms on the strip. They currently run the popular Venetian Deepstack Series four times each year. With the expansion, the property now boasts the 13th largest poker room in the country.
The Bellagio is now the second largest room in Nevada with 40 tables. The Orleans rounds out the top three with 35 tables.
