The Corinthia Hotel & Casino in Prague is currently playing host to the Grand Series of Poker main event. The Czech capital is a hotbed of poker activity having seen the World Poker Tour and European Poker Tour also roll into town in the last couple of weeks.
As a result the picturesque city is teeming with poker players and the €1,360 + €140 tournament attracted 590 runners, 90 more than last year.
Among the notable names who made it through to day two were Craig McCorkell (106,500), Steven van Zadelhoff (100,000), Rhys Jones (97,700), David Vamplew (79,100), Melanie Weisner (25,700) and Liv Boeree (19,200).
In total 192 players will return on Thursday December 13 and 72 players will pick up the minimum cash of €2,242. The winner of the event will pick up a cheque for €106,200 on Saturday.
