After a statewide referendum in November, Maryland will see a big expansion of its gambling industry, which includes allowing its existing and future casinos to stay open around the clock. As of this week, that change has already gone into effect.
Until Thursday, Maryland Live! Casino was required to close at 2 a.m., Sunday through Thursday, and 4 a.m. on Friday and Saturday. It now will never close.
“It’s a very exciting day for the gaming industry in the State of Maryland and for all of us at Maryland Live!,” Robert Norton, its president said in a statement. “We look forward to providing our guests with world-class gaming and entertainment experiences around the clock, while also preparing to add more than 150 live table games in the coming months.”
Additionally, Maryland’s casinos can now offer traditional tables games, including poker.
