David Sands Leads PokerStars Caribbean Adventure $100,000 Buy-In Final TableEight Top Players Will Battle For The $2,003,480 First Place Prize |
|
The final table is set in the 2013 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure $100,000 buy-in super high roller. A record turnout of 59 entries in this re-entry tournament made this the largest field for an event with a buy-in of six-figures or higher, building a prize pool of $5,724,180.
The 2012 running of this event saw Viktor Blom top a field of 32 players, meaning that turnout increased by 84.4% year-over-year. After two days of play the record field has been whittled down and now only eight remain to battle it out for the top prize of $2,003,480.
The chip leader by a huge margin heading into the final table is David “Doc” Sands, who has 6,680,000 (45%) of the 14,755,000 total chips in play. Sands will have to deal with a lot of tough competition from the likes of Nick Schulman, Philipp Gruissem, Dan Shak, Scott Seiver and Cary Katz.
All of the final eight are in the money, guaranteed at least $228,960. All time tournament-earnings leader Antonio Esfandiari was eliminated on the gigantic six-figure money bubble, and therefore unable to extend his more than $6 million lead in that category.
Here is a look at the final table chip counts:
