The €300 buy in Dusk Till Dawn New Year Deepstack no-limit hold’em tournament attracted a large turnout last weekend to the Nottingham club with 264 entries on day 1A and 463 on day 1B.
This secured the guarantee of £150,000 and sailed well beyond creating a prize pool of £218,000 – around the level of the World Poker Tour National Dublin main event which was taking place at the same time.
Ninety-nine players got paid a minimum of £600 but it was Martyn Frey who was the last man standing beating Vikrum Mehta when the last hand saw Mehta move all in with 10-6 on a K-10-9 board to run into Frey’s A-K which held for a £44,303 payday.
Frey won the Grosvenor UK Poker Tour Coventry main event for £36,000 in August last year.
The final table payouts were:
1: Martyn Frey — £44,303.70
2: Vikrum Mehta — £25,601.10
3: Neil Ryder — £15,330.00
4: Anthony Kirkham — £10,731.00
5: Hamid Toghyan — £8,431.50
6: Salim Jangarwala — £6,898.50
7: Dinarte Araujo De Sousa — £6,132.00
8: Martin Henderson — £4,905.60
9: Gene Lam — £4,139.10
