Preview Of 2013 World Series of Poker Circuit Choctaw Main Event

The $1,675 No-Limit Hold'em Main Event Runs From Jan. 18 - 21

The Choctaw Casino Resort in Durant, Oklahoma has been playing host to top-notch tournament action for nearly all of the month of January, with a plethora of tournaments to chose from for it’s World Series of Poker Circuit series.

The centerpiece of the whole 43-event festival is undeniably the $1,675 WSOP Circuit no-limit hold’em event which kicks off on Friday, January 18th with the first of two starting days kicking off at noon. The surviving players from days 1A and 1B will combine for day 2, and then play will continue until the latest WSOPC gold-ringer winner is decided on Jan. 21st.

Abraham ArayaIn the 2012 running of this event a grand total of 978 players entered, building a $1.4 million prize pool. In the end Abraham Araya emerged victorious, earning the $270,380 first-place prize, 912 Card Player Player of the Year points and his first WSOPC gold ring.

If the other preliminary events are any indication, this year’s main event is in great shape to once again be a huge tournament. Event no. 2 of the prelims, a $580 re-entry no-limit hold’em tournament drew 2,209 entries, building a gigantic $1,104,500 prize pool. Mckinney, TX resident Ross Bybee earned $168,433 for coming out on top in that huge event.
