In this Card Player weekly feature we look to provide our readers with a guide to some of the biggest poker events taking place in their area for the upcoming week. SOUTH
- The 2013 World Series of Poker Circuit – Harrah’s Tunica (Jan 24, ‘13 – Feb 04, ’13) The World Series of Poker Circuit pulls into town this week at the Harrah’s Tunica in Robinsonville, Mississippi for another 12-event series of great tournament poker action. Early highlights include a $365 no-limit hold’em re-entry event that kicks off on Jan. 26th. The $1,675 no-limit hold’em main event kicks off next week on Feb. 1st.
CALIFORNIA
- The 2013 L.A. Poker Classic (Jan 15, ‘13 – Mar 03, ’13) The 68-event L.A. Poker Classic tournament series continues the Commerce Casino and Hotel in Los Angeles, California. This week will see a number of interesting events, including a $340 buy-in H.O.R.S.E. tournament that begins on Jan. 22nd, a $340 Omaha eight-or-better/seven-card stud eight-or-better split event on Jan. 23rd and a $1,100 no-limit hold’em event that starts on Jan. 25th.
- The 2013 King’s Ransom and 16th Anniversary Celebration Super Saturday (Jan 21, ‘13 – Jan 26, ’13) The Ocean’s Eleven Casino in Oceanside, California is playing host to two tournaments this week. The first is the “King’s Ransom” which kicks off on Jan. 21st at 10:00 AM and features a $225 buy-in. On Jan. 26th they will host another event, the “16 Year Anniversary Celebration Super Saturday” tournament, featuring a $85 buy-in and kicking off at 10:00 AM.
NORTHEAST
- The 2013 Borgata Winter Open (Jan 15, ‘13 – Feb 01, ’13) The Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa in Atlantic City, New Jersey continues on with its 25-event Borgata Winter Open this week with a number of large events going down including a $1,650 no-limit hold’em mix-max re-entry event that begins on Jan. 23rd and the $3,500 World Poker Tour no-limit hold’em main event which begins with the first of two starting days getting underway on Jan. 27th at 11:00 AM.
NEVADA
- The 2013 Hollywood Poker Open Regional (Jan 25, ‘13 – Jan 27, ’13) The M Resort in Henderson, Nevada is hosting a three-event tournament series over the weekend, with the first event, a $125 no-limit hold’em event, kicking off on Jan. 25th at 2:00 PM. A $225 buy-in will take place on Jan. 26th, and a $335 buy-in will follow on Jan. 27th.
