The Week's Biggest Tournaments Broken Down By Region

In this Card Player weekly feature we look to provide our readers with a guide to some of the biggest poker events taking place in their area for the upcoming week. Check out all the tournament action set to go down in your own backyard from Feb. 25 through Mar. 3. Head to our tournament database for more information.

NEVADA

  • The 2013 Card Player Poker Tour Wynn Las Vegas (Feb. 28, ‘13 – Mar. 21, ’13) The Card Player Poker Tour makes it’s way to the gorgeous Wynn Las Vegas for the tour’s first stop in Nevada. The 12-event series kicks off later this week on Feb. 28 with a four-day, $550 buy-in no-limit hold’em event featuring a $250,000 guaranteed prize pool. The Wynn will be the place to be for poker action throughout the month of March, with a number of great tournaments and plenty of cash game action to choose from. The highlight of the entire series will be the $5,180 Card Player Poker Tour no-limit hold’em main event that gets underway with the first of two starting days on Mar. 17 and continues until a champion is decided at the CPPT live-streamed final table on Mar. 21.
  • The 2013 Venetian Deep Stack Extravaganza I (Jan. 31, ‘13 – Feb. 28, ’13) The Venetian Las Vegas’ popular Deep Stack Extravaganza tournament series comes to the end of its 78-event schedule this week. Their main event is already in the books, but this week includes a number of great tournaments including a $600 no-limit hold’em event that begins on Feb. 25.

CALIFORNIA

  • The 2013 L.A. Poker Classic (Jan. 15, ‘13 – Mar. 03, ’13) The 68-event L.A. Poker Classic tournament series’ main event is ongoing, but even though it is too late to enter that $10,000 event, there is still plenty of tournament action to participate in at the Commerce Casino. The $25,000 no-limit high-roller gets underway on Feb. 25, as well as a number of more affordable events including a $2,080 buy-in eight-game mix tournament on Feb. 26 and a $1,100 no-limit hold’em bounty event starting on Feb. 27.
  • The 2013 Winter Hold’em Series (Feb. 21, ‘13 – Mar. 04, ’13) The Hollywood Park Casino in Inglewood, California is set to host its Winter Hold’em Series, highlighted by a $100 buy-in, single $60 re-buy no-limit hold’em re-entry event with a $200,000 guarantee that continues this week with seven more starting days after kicking off on Feb. 22. Players who survive their starting day will combine to play down to a champion on Mar. 4.

MIDWEST

  • The 2013 Chicago Poker Classic (Feb. 20, ‘13 – Mar. 04, ’13) The Horseshoe Casino in Hammond in Indiana continues with its nine-event Chicago Poker Classic, with this week’s highlight being the $3,200 no-limit hold’em championship event which gets underway on Mar. 1. Also of note is a $5,000 heads-up no-limit hold’em event that will take place starting on Feb. 27.

SOUTH

  • The 2013 Oklahoma State Championship of Poker (Feb. 21, ‘13 – Mar. 03, ’13)
    The Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Tulsa, Oklahoma is playing host to a 30-event tournament series which continues this week, with the highlight being the $550 no-limit hold’em main event that begins on Mar. 3.
