He didn’t lose it as quickly as he won it, but Viktor “Isildur1” Blom has given back all but about $930,000 of the more than $5 million in winnings he once had for the year.

According to data from HighstakesDB, Blom was up the massive amount by mid-January and since then has went on a horrific slide, despite a few upticks scattered throughout the past six weeks or so. If he continues the plunge, it won’t take too long before he’s in the hole.

He dipped below the seven-figure mark within the past 48 hours.

Blom, widely regarded as one of the most talented players in poker, has endured vicious swings on the Internet throughout his young poker career.

Last year, he managed to win around $2 million in tournaments, but this year hasn’t (yet) provided him with success from the live setting to mitigate the losses in cyberspace.

Despite the downswing, Blom still sits in the top 10 for winnings on 2013, according to HighstakesDB. With $2.3 million in earnings, Alex “PostflopAction” Kostritsyn is now atop the leader board, followed by Phil Galfond and Tom Dwan, each with about $1.7 million.

Most of the high-stakes action has been running on Full Tilt Poker, as American players have had to relocate abroad in order to play. Blom is Swedish, while Kostritsyn is Russian.
