Apple Inc. may have some trouble in Australia as a result of apps that allow citizens there to gamble for play money after buying virtual currency and other add-ons.
“We don’t allow online poker in Australia for Australian people under the Interactive Gambling Act … they [Apple] have got an obligation to take down apps that are against Australian law and they should do it,” Greens Senator Richard di Natale, member of the gambling reform committee, told The Age.
Many Australians already gamble online, but the government could tighten restrictions.
