ZyngaPlusPoker Goes Live In The UK

Zynga, the online gaming giant, has joined the real money poker market in the UK with the launch today, Wednesday, April 3, of ZyngaPlusPoker.com.

The site, powered by bwin.party, features both a downloadable client and web version and will be launched on Facebook and mobile platforms in the UK later this year.

In a statement issued through the Zynga blog (and not apparently to the poker or poker media community) Barry Cottle, vice president of business and corporate development at Zynga, said, “Our long term vision is to offer our players the next generation of real money games on multiple platforms in regulated markets worldwide.

“We take responsible gaming seriously and are proud to partner with bwin.party, an industry leader and a reputable company that is fully licensed by a premier regulatory authority.

“This is just the beginning for us and we’re looking forward to seeing what our UK players think about ZyngaPlusPoker and ZyngaPlusCasino, and creating the most valuable casino games and social experiences for them.”

In a statement last month the company said it was not pitching its product at hardcore poker players.

Games available at the site include Texas hold’em, Omaha, Omaha Hi/Lo, seven-card stud and seven-card stud high-low.

The poker industry will look on at this development with great interest over the coming weeks.
