Borgata Poker Room to Host Charity TournamentNational Autism Association to Raise Money With Casino's Help |

Thursday November 2, 2006, will be a special day at the Borgata Hotel Casino and Spa in Atlantic City. To help raise money for the National Autism Association (NAA), the Borgata's luxurious 85-table poker room will play host to $250 buy-in tournament and $100 from each entry will go directly to the NAA.
In addition to playing the tournament in the luxurious upscale environment found at Borgata, players who pony up the $250 buy-in for this cause will get entry special admission to the players lounge in the nightclub Mixx for live entertainment, cocktails, hors d'oeuvres, and a silent auction. A non-player package is available as well for $130 if people want contribute but don't really care to sit at the poker tables for the evening.
According to NAA president and parent Wendy Fournier, Texas hold'em is a great way to raise awareness and badly needed funds.
"Autism has reached epidemic proportions in the U.S. affecting one in 166 children. We hope that the growing popularity of poker playing will offer an enjoyable venue for people to partner with NAA in finding a cure for the hundreds of thousands of children now diagnosed with autism," she said.
Play will begin at 7 p.m. with registration starting at 5 p.m. Players will be awarded cash prizes for top finishes. The National Autism Association is a nonprofit, parent-run organization and tournament donations will go directly to provide financial assistance for family's with autistic children.
