High-Stakes Poker: Last Year's Biggest Winner Online Still Struggling In 2013Ben Sulsky Down Nearly $2 Million On 2013 |
|
Poker pro Ben Sulsky was the biggest winner across all sites in 2012, but in 2013 he is down nearly $2 million, according to tracking data from HighstakesDB.
He quickly reached a huge deficit thanks to a horrible January and since has never been able to find any traction to climb out of the hole.
Here’s a look at Sulsky’s HSB graph for this year.
On Friday, Sulsky was playing the likes of Viktor Blom at the nosebleed pot-limit Omaha stakes, and actually managed to grind out a decent win against the Swede.
In 2012, the 25-year-old New Hampshire native won $3,581,763 on PokerStars, to go along with $367,981 on Full Tilt after it relaunched in early November.
Suslky explained his playing style to Card Player in 2010: “I am not afraid to be aggressive when I should be. I do a lot of work away from the tables and am very self-critical of my game […] [M]y game has gotten pretty good from rigorously looking at hands every day and putting in a lot of time. I also just love the game, and don’t mind putting in the hands or taking shots, and moving down when I have to.”
Here’s a rundown on year-to-date winnings and losses as of Friday:
