Massachusetts Gaming Commission Investigative Unit Clears Wynn Resorts For Everett CasinoCommission Will Make Final Decision In Near Future |

An investigation unit for the Massachusetts Gaming Commission has decided that Wynn Resorts is suitable to open a casino resort in Everett, a town less than five miles from Boston.
Wynn is currently the favorite to win the only eastern Massachusetts gaming license that will be issued by the state.
The suitability hearing came just days after Caesars Entertainment filed a lawsuit against Massachusetts Gaming Commission Chairman Stephen Crosby for his failure to disclose a conflict of interest with Paul Lohnes, a part-owner of the land to be utilized by Wynn Resorts for the casino project.
Wynn joins MGM Resorts International, who was also deemed suitable for a casino resort license from investigators for a Springfield location on the western side of the state.
Both casino companies will get a final decision from the MGC in the near future.
Massachusetts passed a gaming act in 2011 that would allow for three regional casinos and one slot parlor. The MGC hopes to issue their first license by late February, 2014.
