A high-stakes labor dispute between Caesars Windsor and a union resulted in the 24/7 property shutting its doors at around 7 p.m. on Thursday.
However, a tentative deal was reached, which reportedly avoided a strike, and the casino re-opened at 9 a.m. on Friday. Talks are still ongoing.
According to the Windsor Star, the dispute stemmed around wages and benefits, and outsourcing work. Caesars Windsor is one of a handful of casinos in the Detroit-Windsor area.
Contract negotiations continue. We have temporarily closed our doors & will remain closed until an agreement is reached. Updates to follow.
