The 2014 PokerStars and Monte-Carlo® Casino EPT Grand Final €10,600 main event attracted 650 entrants, building a prize pool of €6.5 million ($9,015,500 USD). The centerpiece of the European Poker Tour’s final series began with a sea of tables, but now after five full days of play only eight remain to battle it out for the title and the €1,240,000 first-place prize.
The chip leader heading into the final day is Britain’s Jack Salter. The 27-year-old from London will sit down with 5,170,000 in chips on Friday. At the beginning of day 4 Salter was the second shortest stack in the field, but rebuilt enough to enter day 5 in third chip position.
Salter’s nearest competitor being Colombia’s Mayu Roca with 4,625,000. The short stack is Germany’s Sebastian Bredthauer with 755,000. Fittingly enough for the EPT Grand Final six different nations will be represented when play resumes at the Monte Carlo Bay Hotel at 1:00 PM local time. The final table will be streamed live at EPTlive.com with holecards shown on an hour delay (beginning at 2:00 PM local time.)
