Cleveland’s first ever casino, the Horseshoe Casino Cleveland, had its two-year anniversary on Wednesday. The property came just a few years after the Buckeye State legalized such facilities.
The casino—a joint venture between Caesars and Rock Gaming—draws around five million people annually and has brought in $74,218,175 in gaming revenue through the first four months of 2014.
That’s strong, but a 14.79-percent decline year-over-year.
Earlier this week, casino officials announced plans for a new sports bar lined with gambling machines, which will be located near the entrance of the relatively new skywalk entrance, The Cleveland Plain Dealer reported. The renovation will come with a price tag of $4.2 million.
Part of the plan includes moving the Total Rewards desk near the entrance and relocating table games to where slot machines once were. Doing so now leaves the casino with around 1,600 slots and 119 table games, the latter of which is about on par with other casinos in Ohio.
When the casino opened in May 2012, it had 2,083 slot machines and 94 table games, according to data from the Ohio Casino Control Commission.
The Horseshoe Casino Cleveland also features a WSOP-branded poker room.
