Revenue From Web Poker Breaks $1 Million

Nevada’s online poker industry brought in $1.037 million in revenue during June—the largest amount since the state launched online poker in the spring of 2013.

Just three firms offer online poker in Nevada.

The record revenue was likely due to the World Series of Poker coming into town, as the annual poker festival brings in tens of thousands of poker players from around the world.

Nevada’s brick-and-mortar licensees reported a total gaming win of $906,904,294 for the month of June 2014. This amounted to a 14.36-percent increase compared to June 2013, when licensees reported a gaming win of just $793,058,748.

For the fiscal year (July 1, 2013 to June 30, 2014), gaming win has increased 2.94 percent.

The Las Vegas Strip jumped to $532,362,928 (June 2014) from $434,747,965 (June 2013)—a gain of 22.45 percent. North Las Vegas was the only area of the state that recorded a larger percentage gain.
