Gary LutherThere will be a brand new champion added to the list of Card Player Poker Tour winners when the final six return Monday to battle to a winner and the top prize of $183,025 in the Choctaw main event.

One of six players – Gary Luther, Tyler Morris, Austin Lewis, Jason Fitzpatrick, Omar Zazay or Zia Kohsravi – will become the seventh champion of Season II and take of one of the largest first place prizes the tour has ever awarded.

Luther, who took the chiplead after taking down a massive pot eight-handed, will lead the final six when play resumes. Lewis will trail Luther with 3.28 million and Kohsravi will return with the short stack with just 115,000.

The money was reached early in the day when three players were eliminated during round-for-round play. Archie Van Horn, William Richerson and Gil George split the money for 62nd and 63rd three ways and each left with $1,900 for their efforts.

World Series of Poker Circuit ring winner Justin Gardenhire, WSOP bracelet winner Jim Willerson and two-time World Poker Tour champion Tommy Vedes were among those to fall after the money bubble.

Chris Tryba, who finished runner-up at CPPT Foxwoods back in February, cashed out for $3,399 as the 41st place finisher and brought his CPPT Season II winnings to $94,595. Tryba sits behind Ronnie Pease, who won the CPPT Foxwoods event, by a mere $950 for money won on the season.

Defending champion Mohammad Arani and last year’s third place finisher, Lou Barlow, both made deep runs this time around. Barlow was eliminated as the 25th place finisher for $5,578 when he ran his AHeart Suit5Diamond Suit into Jeremy Hesselberg’s ADiamond SuitJDiamond Suit on a JClub Suit4Spade Suit4Diamond Suit flop. The board completed 2Spade Suit6Diamond Suit to end Barlow’s tournament. Arani was later eliminated as the 14th place finisher for $11,138, ensuring a brand new CPPT champion will be crowned on Monday.

The final table will begin Monday at 12 pm local time and will feature live updates and a live stream complete with commentary on cardplayer.com.
