After last week saw four players make moves inside the top twenty and a few others come very close, things quieted down a bit this week in the 2014 Card Player Player of the Year race, sponsored by CarbonPoker. There were still plenty of POY points and sizable payout awarded this week, however. Here is a look at the biggest results on the live poker tournament circuit over the past seven days:

WSOP Circuit Horseshoe Hammond Main Event

Robert CoventryThe 2014 World Series of Poker Circuit Horseshoe Hammond $1,675 no-limit hold’em main event attracted a gigantic field of 1,147 entries to build a prize pool of $1,720,500! That meant that 117 players made the money from this huge turnout.

In the end the largest payout was awarded to Robert Coventry, who emerged victorious from the throngs to earn his first WSOP Circuit gold ring, the $313,993 first-place prize and 960 Player of the Year points.

This was Coventry’s first final table showing of the year, but this win alone was enough to catapult him in to 265th place in the overall standings.

Coventry topped a tough final table that included a number of notables, including third-place finisher Steve Billirakis (3rd – $144,109) and and runner-up Viet Vo (2nd – $193,935).

2014 Wynn Fall Classic

Terry FleischerThe Wynn Las Vegas’ Poker Room played host to a six-event tournament series in recent weeks, highlighted by a $250,000 guaranteed $1,600 no-limit hold’em main event. A total of 290 players turned out to easily surpass the guarantee.

Terry Fleischer came out on top, topping a tough final table that included WSOP bracelet winners Joey Weissman and Allyn Shulman to win the $76,334 first-place prize, an impressive trophy from the Wynn and 456 POY points.

This was Fleischer’s second final table appearance of the year, having navigated his way through a 3,599-entry field to finish eighth in the $1 million guaranteed WPT500 Aria event this summer. Fleischer now sits in 700th place in the overall POY standings as a result of these two scores.

Here is a look at the current top 20 in the POY standings:
