Delaware I-Gambling Revenue Falls To $130KFigure Is The Worst Since November 2013 |
|
The state of Delaware’s three online gambling operators won $130,468.65 from gamblers during the month of October, according to figures released by the Delaware Lottery, which oversees the one-year-old industry.
That’s the lowest total for overall I-gaming revenue in the state since November 2013 ($111,387.71), the first month online gaming was available in Delaware.
Only 315 new online gambling accounts were created in Delaware in October.
A total of $28,509.73 of that October figure came from online poker (rake).
That’s the lowest chunk for online poker since June’s $25,600. December 2013 saw $106,900 from poker—which is still the state’s record. Online poker play in Delaware has shrunk by a large margin over the course of nearly a year. Web poker sites need liquidity.
Delaware online gambling sites also have house-banked games and a video lottery.
The $130,000 was roughly $15,000 less than September’s overall Internet gaming revenue.
April’s overall I-gaming revenue of $240,762.63 is the best so far.
Currently, three firms offer online gaming in Delaware—Delaware Park, Dover Downs and Harrington Raceway. No more operators are going to enter the market anytime soon.
Revenues from online gaming have been disappointing in New Jersey and Nevada as well, with one company—Ultimate Gaming—pulling out of both of those markets.
