|
Last year was not a good one for high-stakes poker legend Phil “OMGClayAiken” Galfond. The Maryland native dropped just over $1 million on Full Tilt. This year he got off to a late start, not playing any sessions until this week, but he managed to score a nearly $120,000 win on the week despite the hiatus.
The 680-hand session between Monday and Tuesday brought his lifetime winnings on the software to $7.19 million. His peak was more than $10 million in the spring of 2013.
Galfond’s profits over the past seven days weren’t the largest in the online poker world. Unknown player “JayP-AA” scored $446,000 on PokerStars in the time frame, logging 86 sessions and 9,800 hands. Those totals were the most among the big online winners.
Alex “joiso” Kostritysn ($289,000), Ilari “Ilari FIN” Sahamies ($236,000) and Ola “Odd_Oddsen” Amundsgaard ($152,000) also had strong weeks. On the flip side, unknown PokerStars player “AckmaJin” lost $330,000, which was the most in the online poker world.
Sahamies is the biggest winner so far in 2015 with $676,000 in winnings.
Viktor Blom has lost the most with a $551,000 deficit on the year.
