A 60-year-old Las Vegas casino could be torn down to make way for more convention space, according to a report from CNN Money.
The Riviera Hotel & Casino, which opened in 1955, is being considered by the board of directors for the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority as the site for a $2.3 billion expansion plan for the Las Vegas Convention Center.
The Authority would pay $182.5 million to purchase the Riviera from Riviera Holdings Corp.
The Strip casino reportedly was the first high-rise Vegas casino.
A vote by the board will come Friday.
