A player on the 2003 college football national champion LSU Tigers was sentenced to 50 years in prison Thursday for attempted murder at a Louisiana casino in 2011.

Demetri Robinson, 32, pleaded guilty to three counts of attempted second-degree murder.

He got about the harshest sentence he was facing.

Robinson was accused of shooting at three employees of the truck stop casino along US route 190. The incident happened just days after Robinson was asked to leave the casino for making an inappropriate sexual comment to an employee, law enforcement alleged for a motive.

One of the employees had a bullet graze her head.

According to theadvocate.com, Robinson testified in his own defense, and the judge was displeased with what he thought was Robinson blaming others instead of himself.
