Moscow-based online poker Liliya ‘Liay5’ Novikova has become the newest member of PokerStars’ “Team Online”, which is a group of high-volume players sponsored by the site.
PokerStars made the announcement Monday on its website and on social media.
Novikova, 22, said she plays hyper-turbo six-max sit-and-gos. She’s a “Supernova” on the site, which means she has already reached a very high level of volume.
PokerStars now sponsors 53 poker players, according to its website. The most recent signing before Novikova was American poker pro Jason Somerville.
Novikova is one of three Russians endorsed by PokerStars. The others are Ivan Demidov and Mikhail Shalamov. Demidov was the runner-up in the 2008 WSOP main event.
