A private poker game in the back of a Chicago cafe was robbed by a pair of armed men pretending to be police officers, according to a Wednesday report from dnainfo.com.
Police said that the cash game, held in the back of Cafe Zippo at 5645 N. Lincoln Ave., was robbed at 2 a.m. on March 14. The suspects allegedly stole $5,000 in cash, as well as credit and debit cards and cellphones.
The suspects yelled “Police! Police!” when they stormed into the room. One of the robbers apparently had on a jacket with the word “Police” on it.
Seven men playing in the poker game were ordered to the ground, the victims told police.
Law enforcement is investigating and might be aided by the fact that one of the stolen cellphones was traced to a different area of the city. No arrests have been made yet.
