The third exciting year of the Hollywood Poker Open is in full swing and heading to the Midwest. Hollywood Casino Columbus will host the upcoming HPO Regional Tournament beginning May 14 through May 25. Once again, regional play features poker champion Chris Moneymaker with head-to-head action culminating the weekend of the Main Event starting May 23. The winner walks away with a seat to the $500,000 Guaranteed HPO Championship at the M Resort in Las Vegas this June.
Located right in the heart of Ohio, minutes from downtown Columbus, Hollywood Casino’s usual 36 poker tables will be even more bustling than normal with all of the participants playing in the Regional Tournament. Hundreds of players throughout the region and beyond are expected to go head-to-head in over 30 events taking place in 11 action-packed days.
“We’re absolutely thrilled to be hosting the Hollywood Poker Open Regional Tournament once again,” said John Constantino, Poker Manager at Hollywood Casino Columbus. “Our poker players get a chance to go up against some of the best players around including Chris Moneymaker, win some huge cash prizes, and maybe even a seat at the Main Event in Vegas.”
The chance to play against Chris Moneymaker is one of the big draws of the regional tournaments. In addition to regular HPO events, the legendary player sits in at random satellites giving many an opportunity to match skills with one of poker’s best.
The 3rd Season also features beautiful tournament trophies for those who win designated events. Plus, the player with the highest point total in the 11 featured events will receive an incredible Regional Points Champion trophy.

Following the action in Columbus, the Hollywood Poker Open culminates at the Championship Event in Las Vegas June 25 through June 28.
“Poker players have come to know Hollywood and its reputation for hosting some of the hottest poker action in the industry,” said Gaye Gullo, Penn National Corporate Vice President of Marketing. “The Hollywood Poker Open is fast becoming an annual rite for players everywhere.”
