New York to Las Vegas in under 7 minutes? It’s possible with the World Series of Jackpots. Americas Cardroom today announced new Jackpot Poker tournaments that award players who hit the sit-n-go jackpot with $12,500 World Series of Poker prize packages featuring the $10,000 main event buy-in, and money for travel and accommodations.
“The World Series of Poker Main Event gets underway in just a few short months, so we thought it would be a good idea to speed things up,” stated Americas Cardroom spokesperson Michael Harris. “With the World Series of Jackpots, two out of the three players in the tournament will get to play again if the package spin isn’t hit. And if it does hit, all three players playing are going to Vegas.”
Regular Jackpot Poker tournaments are three-player Hyper Turbo sit-n-gos that last an average of just seven minutes. Poker players can enter regular Jackpot Poker tournaments for $2 and play for up to $5,000 or enter for $10 and play for up to $25,000 or enter for $40 to win $100,000. With the World Series of Jackpots, the buy-in options are $3 and $30. The prize pool is randomly drawn right before the start of the tournament.
Most Jackpot Poker tournaments are winner-take-all events. However, for the World Series of Jackpots, Americas Cardroom is making things interesting.
Like all Jackpot Poker tournaments, the World Series of Jackpots prize pools are determined after all three players buy-in. Should the package spin not hit, instead of a winner-take-all format, World Series of Jackpots tournaments will award the top two players with the chance to play another World Series of Jackpots tournament again for free. Only the last place finisher loses.
However, if the prize pool hits the package jackpot spin, all three players in the tournament will win a WSOP prize package worth $12,500.
Harris notes that three players out of every 1,666 jackpot games played with walk away with a $12,500 WSOP prize package. “The fact that players get to keep playing as long as they don’t finish last makes the World Series of Jackpots an incredibly attractive way to get to Vegas.”
