Former NFL star Clinton Portis owes $287,178.56 to MGM Grand in Las Vegas, according to a report from Deadspin. A default judgment worth the six-figure sum was recently declared in Clark County court.

The outcome implies that he never responded to the suit. MGM sued Portis last fall.

According to the report, which detailed other of his financial woes, Portis had been an investor in a failed casino project that lost as much as $43.6 million. Portis and others reportedly sued a financial adviser over the matter, and that case is pending. Portis reportedly owes more than $1.4 million to creditors.

In 2013, when Portis joined a class-action lawsuit against the NFL over concussions, he said that he wasn’t doing it because he needed the money. “This is not about money for me I’m doing just fine!" he wrote on his Twitter. Even now, Portis has responded that’s he’s OK.

The 33-year-old announced his retirement from football in 2012.
