The Card Player Poker Tour bestbet Jacksonville main event begins Aug. 21.
Typically drawing fields of more than 200 players, the $1,500 no-limit hold’em $300,000 guarantee main event is expected to be even better this time around.
“It’s actually been a while since our last big event,” Hollander said. “So this should be very well attended.”
More than 160 players have already won their main event seats through satellites.
Players in the main event will have the option of playing on two starting days – Day 1a and Day 1b – both beginning at 12 pm on Aug. 21 and Aug. 22. Players begin with 20,000 in starting chips and may re-enter as many times as they wish during the first six levels of play and through the second break. Players can also play both day ones and use the best stack forward option.
Levels one through nine will play for 40 minutes and level 10 and beyond will play for 60 minutes. Day 1 will conclude at the end of level 13. Day 2 will begin at 12 pm and play until only six players remain. The final day will begin at 2 pm and play down to a winner.

The bestbet series is the sixth stop of Season III of the CPPT. The main event winner is likely to take home one of the largest single payouts of the season and will join Fred Paradis (Foxwoods – $81,520), Maxim Sorokin (Wynn – $101,619), Nick Weinberg (Atlantis – $38,625), Chan Pelton (Choctaw – $130,455) and Enrici Christophe (St. Maarten – $37,950) on the list of champions.
