Daily Fantasy Sports: It's Football SeasonPlay In The FantasyDraft $75K Preseason Week 3 Freeroll |
|
Clearly, that was the most pointless title I’ve ever come up with for this article. Everyone feels the exact same way that I do because the NFL is King. Week 3 of the preseason schedule is upon us and we will now begin to see the makings of the teams we can expect to see come opening week. Of the four preseason weeks, week 3 is the one where teams tend to give the most work to the players they expect to play a lot during the regular season. Most teams will generally play their first unit for the entire first half of this game. For DFS players intending to get after it on opening week, this is a great weekend to pay attention to preseason action.
While teams won’t be opening up the playbook and showing off exactly what they plan to do on offense during the season, observers can get a good idea for who will be playing a lot of snaps for their team. As DFS players, it can be easy to fall into the habit of targeting the sexy player who can break a long run or a big pass play at any time. Yes, those do happen, but they’re terribly unpredictable and hard to count on consistently. What is consistent, though, is volume. Players who get a lot of volume and are efficient with that volume are the cream of the crop in DFS. So pay attention to who is on the field a lot for their team because those are the players you are going to want on your DFS team.
In addition to just being on the field, we want to find out which players are going to play integral roles in their offense. Which receiver does the quarterback lock in on for the important third down conversions? Does the running back appear to be a workhorse who will touch the ball 20 or more times per game? These are the types of questions I’ll be asking myself as I watch the games this weekend. The hope is that I’ll come away with a better snapshot of each team and what they’re going to try to accomplish in their offense this season.
FantasyDraft $75k Preseason Week 3 Freeroll
Last week, FantasyDraft rolled out a $50k guaranteed freeroll for week 2 of the preseason. Instead of just letting everyone be impressed with that, they decided to one up themselves for week 3. In addition to $50k in FantasyCash, they will be awarding one thousand tickets for a $25 entry into their regular season opening week $250k guaranteed Run & Gun contest.
Last week, I advised really digging into the rosters of the teams that would be playing because of the lack of playing time the starters would receive. As stated earlier, week 3 is when the starters get some extended playing time so for this freeroll there is a real balancing act to figure out which players make for the best DFS plays. Best of luck to anyone playing and I hope to join you in the PayoutZone!
