DraftKings: Week 11 NFL DFS Picks

Here's Some Daily Fantasy Sports Tips From An Expert

Print-icon

Week 10 was a fairly odd week in NFL DFS. Many of the ‘chalk’ plays that went heavily owned performed just fine. None of them really went bananas aside from Kirk Cousins and his four touchdown performance against the Saints. The rest were mostly fine. Not great. Just fine.

The result was that a score of 125 on DraftKings turned out to perform decently in double up and 50/50 type games when normally that score would leave you busted.

This week, on DraftKings especially, I expect that much higher scores will be needed for your cash games, in part because the pricing is very, very soft this week. Multiple players are extremely cheap for the output they’ve been providing. I’ll be highlighting one or two players at each position who fit that bill this week on DraftKings.

QB

Derek Carr ($6,300) – Carr has had a couple down games this year. In week one, he stunk it up and got injured against the Bengals. He had another down game against the super duper elite Broncos defense. And his other down game was a multiple touchdown effort against the Bears. Aside from that, Carr has been over 20 DraftKings points in every other game. He now draws a real bad Lions defense in a dome in the game with the week’s highest total. And his team is favored.

Tyrod Taylor ($5,200) – $5,200 is $200 over the minimum price on DraftKings. Taylor hung a 28 point DraftKings performance on these Patriots in week 2. He also has 15 or more DraftKings points in every start this year aside from last week’s Thursday night game against a real good Jets defense.

RB

Charcandrick West ($4,500) – This is probably the most mispriced player I’ve seen in NFL DFS all season long. The guy has 77 points in his last 3 weeks! And he costs $300 less than Eddie Lacy! West should be $6,000 at the bare minimum and anyone not using him in DFS cash games is being foolish if you ask me.

Adrian Peterson ($6,800) – Obviously, $6,800 isn’t a crazy low price. But Peterson is one of the best backs in the league and is coming off a 200-yard performance in Oakland. Now, he gets the Packers soft run defense in a home matchup where the Vikings are favored. While Devonta Freeman is a total stud in fantasy, I don’t know that I could justify paying $1,600 more for him than Peterson this week.

WR

Davante Adams ($4,600) – It’s unclear whether Adams is all that good or not. But in the last two weeks, he has played around 99 percent of the Packers snaps and has seen a whopping 32 targets from Aaron Rodgers. That kind of volume, coupled with it coming in an Aaron Rodgers led offense, is just unprecedented for $4,600 on DraftKings.

Stevie Johnson ($3,900) – Johnson is in a somewhat similar boat as Adams. With the injury to Keenan Allen, Johnson played 100 percent of the snaps for the Chargers in week 9 prior to their week 10 bye. He also saw ten targets in that game. Neither of those numbers would surprise me in this game, so Stevie is a bargain at $3,900.

TE

Rob Gronkowski ($7,700) – I’m cheating here. Gronkowski’s price is pretty close to fair, but tight end doesn’t have anyone whose price is too egregious and I also like an excuse to talk about Gronk. In week 2, the Patriots went into Buffalo and threw it 59 times while only calling 12 runs. While I don’t expect that kind of discrepancy this week, I do think Gronkowski has a reasonable chance to repeat his 7-113-1 line given the recent injuries to critical pass game cogs Dion Lewis and Julian Edelman.

Finally, I don’t usually talk about defenses much in this space. But this week, the Bears cost the bare minimum $2,000 on DraftKings and will face Brock Osweiler in his first career start. I won’t be dying to use them, but I definitely think they’re a reasonable salary saver.
