Draftpot: Week 11 NFL DFS Picks

Here's Some Daily Fantasy Sports Tips From An Expert

Playing in the Draftpot Fan Mode is such a cool change of pace. After grinding DFS for a few years now, the idea of setting a DFS lineup without having to worry about a salary cap at all is just refreshing.

This week, I’m going to highlight one elite option and one under-the-radar possibility for your Fan Mode lineups on Draftpot. Let’s take down the first prize in the $75,000 Touchdown tournament.

QB

Tom Brady – No secret here, Brady is the man. Coming off his two worst games of the year (mind you, he scored 18 and 19 fantasy points in these games), Brady looks to bounce back in a home matchup with the Bills, whose stout run defense forces teams to throw the ball on them. After losing Dion Lewis and Julian Edelman, Brady’s pass catching corps is a little thin. And that’s why I’d suggest pairing him with a certain tight end who we’ll get to later.

Derek Carr – While Carr will be a popular cheap option on other sites, I think he’ll definitely fly under the radar in Draftpot’s Fan Mode. That may be an error by your competitors, as Carr has flashed considerable upside in recent weeks. This week, he gets a pillow soft Detroit defense in a dome in this week’s highest over/under game of the week. Carr is a strong contrarian selection.

RB

Devonta Freeman – The runaway top back in fantasy this year, Freeman has cooled off a little after his historic early season stretch. Oddly enough, it almost feels to me that he’s been a little unlucky of late. The quality of Atlanta’s offense and the way they run that offense leaves Freeman’s role worth a ton. He has so many scoring opportunities that he’s a decent bet for two touchdowns any week.

Darren McFadden – Last week, we witnessed the DFS value of running backs that are on the field a ton, but facing a tough matchup, as low owned Charcandrick West and Jeremy Langford slapped up huge games at low ownership percentages. McFadden fits the mold here, as he will see all the work he can handle and will surely go low owned on Draftpot.

WR

Calvin Johnson – Calvin has been merely serviceable in some of the tougher matchups the Lions have had this year, but he has flashed some of that vintage play in the softer ones. In his week 6 home game against the Bears that set up very similarly to this week, he posted 6-166-1. I like his chances of repeating that this week at home against a putrid Raiders secondary.

Eric Decker – I don’t know why I’m suggesting Decker. He’s incredibly boring. He’s like that old man who drives it in the middle of the fairway, hits an iron to the front of the green, chips it up close and taps it in for par every hole. Decker just goes 6-85-1 every game. Boring.

TE

Rob Gronkowski – Were you expecting someone else in the obvious section? There’s really not a ton to say. No player at any position is this much better than his peers. The Patriots haven’t even unleashed Gronk that often this year. They may have no choice here with two of their top weapons down with injuries and facing a strong Bills run defense. I don’t want to be the guy without Gronk in DFS if they do.

Jimmy Graham – As a Seahawks fan, this season feels a little lost. I’m willing to bet the players and coaches don’t feel the same, and are itching to get on a roll. In what sets up as a game they should dominate, I could see the Seahawks force feeding Graham a touchdown or two if things go to plan.
