Fantasy Draft: Week 11 NFL DFS PicksHere's Some Daily Fantasy Sports Tips From An Expert |
|
Last week, I offered up a valuable player at each position on FantasyDraft. Each of them was solid but none of them offered up spectacular value. But they didn’t kill you. And that’s part of what we look for in a value play in DFS.
If you can find cheap players who put up points and aren’t running the risk of putting a big fat donut in your lineup, then you’ve found a good value. They don’t always have to blow up for 100 yards and a touchdown.
This week, I’m going back to one of my favorite wells with the four wide receiver selections. Playing four wide receivers in your FantasyDraft lineups gives you maximum upside when trying to take down a tournament like the $150,000 Run & Gun.

Calvin Johnson ($13,700) – While Megatron appears to have lost a step from prior years, he still has enough to give you a monster game in the right matchup. Calvin has been merely serviceable in some of the tougher matchups the Lions have had this year, but he has flashed some of that vintage play in the softer ones. In his week 6 home game against the Bears that set up very similarly to this week, he posted 6-166-1. Given the Raiders struggles in the back end and the high scoring projection for this game, I’m expecting another strong performance here.
Michael Crabtree ($11,300) – Staying in Detroit, Raiders receiver Michael Crabtree is also in a strong spot to produce a big game this weekend. Prior to last week’s five-target game where heavy winds hurt the Raiders pass attack, Crabtree had seen 41 targets in his last four games. He’s also gone from being a 70-75 percent player in the Raiders offense to seeing around 90 percent of the snaps the last two weeks. Pro Football Focus’ Mike Clay is projecting that top Lions corner Darius Slay will shadow Amari Cooper, leaving Crabtree to go to work against a beat up Lions secondary.
Davante Adams ($9,100) – It’s unclear whether Adams is all that good or not. But in the last two weeks, he has played around 99 percent of the Packers snaps and has seen a whopping 32 targets from Aaron Rodgers. That kind of volume, coupled with it coming in an Aaron Rodgers led offense, makes this $9,100 price tag a big bargain. That kind of volume is also where upside comes from. If Adams continues to be targeted at this rate, he’s a really strong bet to have a breakout game sometime soon.
Stevie Johnson ($7,700) – Johnson is in a somewhat similar boat as Adams. With the injury to Keenan Allen, Johnson played 100 percent of the snaps for the Chargers in week 9 prior to their week 10 bye. In that week 9 game, the Chargers continued their year long trend of chucking the ball all over the yard. Philip Rivers had 42 pass attempts in that game and Stevie was one of his primary weapons, seeing ten targets. Neither of those numbers would surprise me in this game, so Stevie is a bargain at $7,700.
