Profit for Atlantic City’s casino industry was up 61 percent in the third quarter of this year compared to the same period last year, state gaming regulators said this week.
Gross operating profit was $237.5 million during the quarter that ended in September, up from $147.5 million last year. For the first three quarters of 2015, the casinos’ collective gross operating profit was $450.9 million, an increase of 67.5 percent.
Atlantic City had four casinos close last year, three of which were in Q3.
Online gambling has been of some help to the casino industry this year. Through the first 10 months of the year, Internet gambling revenue was $121,613,337, up from $103,401,786 during the same period last year. There are 17 skins between the six casinos that operate online gambling.
