Maryland Live! Casino, the state’s largest gambling facility in terms of revenue, announced this week that it has teamed up with GameAccount Network plc to run social casino games under the Maryland Live! brand.
The free-play games, which have already launched, are available at www.MarylandLiveCasino.com and www.livecasino.social, according to a December 1 press release from the companies.
“GAN’s enterprise-level technology solution enables Maryland Live! Casino to unlock the online income dormant within their land-based gaming business and offer their patrons a compelling alternative to social casinos,” the companies said in a press released.
According to both GAN and Maryland Live!, up to 50 percent of surveyed casino patrons are already engaged in playing social casinos on Facebook.
Social casino gaming is worth an estimated $1.3 billion a year in the U.S.
GAN has existing business relationships with casinos in New Jersey, Pennsylvania and New York. The company is headquartered in London.
Maryland has not legalized real-money online casinos.
