FantasyDraft: Week 16 NFL DFS Picks

FantasyDraft: Week 15 NFL DFS Picks

Print-icon

With only two more weeks to go in the NFL regular season, we’re definitely on the home stretch for this year of daily fantasy football. There are still a lot of great contests to play, including the FantasyDraft rake free #PlayersFirst $150,000 Run & Gun tournament that this article focuses on each week.

As always, I’ll be digging through the FantasyDraft wide receiver salaries to try to highlight four good wide receivers for this weekend. Using four wide receivers in your FantasyDraft lineup is a great way to maximize the upside of your team, as receivers have more upside than running backs in FantasyDraft’s full point per reception format.

Antonio Brown ($17,600) – At this point, I’d be doing everyone reading this a disservice if Antonio Brown wasn’t the first wide receiver listed. Brown has had 40 or more FantasyDraft points in four of his last six weeks, with two of those games being 49. Go ahead and read that last sentence again, because it’s pretty insane. There’s really not a ton to say here. Brown is on his way to being one of the best receivers in NFL history and his quarterback Ben Roethlisberger is playing at an extremely high level and force-feeding him the ball. If you’re not playing Brown in DFS, you’re just doing it wrong.

Mike Evans ($13,700) – Evans has been a maddening player this year in fantasy football. Looking back, though, it actually makes quite a bit of sense. Rich Hribar of Rotoworld notes in his fantastic Worksheet column this week that in games where Vincent Jackson hasn’t played, Evans has seen 37.2 percent of his team’s targets. In games where Jackson has played, that number has plummeted to 25.6 percent. Jackson missed last week and Evans put up 9-157, albeit with a lot of that coming in garbage time, in a tough Thursday matchup in St. Louis. Jackson is expected to miss the rest of the season, so we could see Evans have a nice run here to close it out.

Jeremy Maclin ($11,300) – The Chiefs aren’t exactly a high octane, air it out type of offense. Maclin, however, dominates targets for them at a rate matched by very few receivers in the league. Maclin also draws a very weak Cleveland defense this weekend, making him a high floor and high upside play. After a down stretch in the middle of the season, Maclin has rebounded over his last four games. He’s posted four consecutive games of six or more receptions and has scored four touchdowns in that span. At this middling price on FantasyDraft, Maclin is a very solid option.

Martavis Bryant ($10,600) – Martavis Bryant rant time. Daily fantasy football is a weekly game, with the season long body of work having no bearing on how a player performs week to week. Martavis Bryant is the 25th most expensive receiver on FantasyDraft. In the last four weeks, Martavis Bryant has seen 13, 9, 8 and 14 targets. Martavis Bryant is seventh in per game fantasy scoring this year. The six receivers ahead of him? THEY’RE THE TOP SIX RECEIVERS IN FANTASYDRAFT PRICING!!! Do you see the disconnect here? This Martavis Bryant thing is thoroughly confusing to me. I’m just going to close my eyes and put him in my lineups.
