Late Clemson TD Great For Las Vegas: ReportScore With Just Seconds Left Was Bad For Bettors |

A Clemson touchdown with less than 15 seconds on the clock on Monday was great for the Las Vegas casino industry, according to a report from CBS Sports.
The 2016 College Football Playoff National Championship in Glendale, Arizona was an instant classic, with Alabama beating Clemson by a score of 45-40. It was no surprise that there was heavy betting on the game.
With just over a minute left in the game, Alabama scored a touchdown to take the 45-33 lead. According to the report, the majority of the money at two major sports books was on Alabama at -6.5. That seemed to be a common situation across town.
Sports betting in Nevada is at record levels, which has led to the state of New Jersey challenging a federal law limiting the action to Nevada and three other states. Just this week, a Pennsylvania lawmaker introduced a resolution calling for the 1992 law to be done away with.
The proposal is for “urging the Congress of the United States to lift the federal ban
on sports betting and to allow states that authorize, license and regulate casino gaming, including the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, to legalize sports betting through its licensed facilities.”
Delaware, which has limited sports betting, is the only other state with the business.
