Poker Stars is looking for 10 Canadian players to make up Team Canada to represent it at this year's World Series of Poker main event.

The team will be made of players who win freerolls. The freerolls are open to new and existing Canadian players. Players will compete for 10 $12,000 WSOP packages that will include the $10,000 buy-in plus $2,000 for travel and seven nights' accommodation expenses.

The promotion began March 3, and will run until May 12. Two seats have already been won, both by women. Although there are only eight spots left on Team Canada, Poker Stars is also giving away 60,000 cash prizes ranging from $5 to $4,500, which will make a winner in one out of every seven participants.

To compete for one of these packages, players must finish in the top 100 of a round one freeroll played daily at 6:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. The top 428 will receive cash prizes.

Round two players will compete every Saturday at 3 p.m. up until May 12. The top 135 will receive cash prizes, and the first-place finisher will snag an official place on Poker Stars' Team Canada to represent Canada this summer at the 2007 WSOP.
